The story of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been reviewed endlessly and is undoubtedly well known to all who care. I'll confine my review to this particular edition and focus on what you're getting for the extra money.
First and most obviously the book comes in a case which sets it apart from the other editions; the case has a heavy substantial feel that suggests it will be around for the long haul. We are told near the end of the book; "The case is wrapped in Sierra cloth, an acid-free rayon-based material manufactured in Europe exclusively for Ecological Fibers." We are also told the book is made from 100% recycled paper and meets the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council.
The dustcover has art showing the escape from Gringott's on the back of the dragon. The story runs 759 pages and fortunately the font is large and easy to read. The book ends with a series of illustrations by Mary GrandPre showing scenes from the book followed by brief sections about the author, J. K. Rowling, and illustrator, Mary GrandPre.
The binding is well done and has the feel of quality; the book was printed and bound by RR Donnelley in Crawfordsville, Indiana. This would probably be a good choice for a collector who plans for it to be in their library for a long time and re-read it from time to time. I am personally pleased to have it in my collection and feel the extra money was well spent.
